Prohibits AI providers from making available an AI system programmed to provide services that would constitute the practice of professional mental or behavioral health care, and from representing (explicitly or implicitly) that an AI system, feature or avatar is a therapist, psychiatrist or other mental/behavioral health provider or is capable of providing such care. Restricts provider use of AI in mental/behavioral health care and bars AI from performing the mental-health functions of school counselors, psychologists and social workers. Administrative uses such as scheduling and billing remain permitted.

Notes
Signing date (June 5, 2025) from Wilson Sonsini's alert; the bill text (Second Reprint) confirms the July 1, 2025 effective date. Nevada AB 295 (2025), which would have regulated AI in prior authorization, failed — no further action was allowed after April 12, 2025 under Joint Standing Rule 14.3.1, so it is not included as enacted.
