Key Requirements

Establishes permitted and restricted uses of AI in mental health care. Before using AI tools designed to simulate emotional attachment, or AI companions used for supplementary support or therapeutic communication where a session is recorded or transcribed, providers must inform the client or legal representative in writing of the AI use and its specific purpose and obtain consent.
